I’m scratching my head at all this honestly, the network drivers are up-to-date. What I’ve tried is I opened the registery and changed the TCP delayed ACK timer to a lower value… As described in still no effect so I restored the registey to it’s original setting. It just started happening about two weeks ago and it is progressively getting worse. Some files Word will not save and others it cannot open. A box opens that shows the progress, which is really slow. Here is the problem they are having: two of their computers are taking about a minute to open a file or saving a file to the server. However the person whom originally configured their network was a CS student who charged them about three grand and changed universities (basically left them with no support)… I know that for the size of the network a workgroup would have been more than sufficient that and it isn't recomended to use the same unit as the Domain Controller and File Server. Also, one Server 2003 with SP2 acting as the Domain Controller (w/active directory) and File Server.
